A GUIDEPOST REPRINT: “Skating at Sea,” 17 August 1984, Part 1 »
This is a first-person story of the author who got to know about the completely artisanal patín a vela or Catalan catamaran -- no nails nor screws to assemble the craft, just glue. Ruderless, too -- and how she was introduced into the sport without prior experience whatsoever. She was territied when her instructor pushed her in her patin out into the sea but, as the reader will find out in Part 2 of "Skating at Sea", she made it. She certainly didn't drown with the patin.

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien: "If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world." So serve up Escallops of Veal a la Madrileña, Chicken and Lobster Costa Brava, and Duck with Olives.
