STATESIDE STORIES: TRUMP TOUSLING MELANIA’S HAIR AND VICE-VERSA!
By Mary Foran
If scandals were horses, beggars would ride…The News is full of pay-offs, accusations, denials and, among other things, and amongst us all, confessions! There are slanderous rumors of troubles at the top, but putting on a brave face is part of the playbook.
Meanwhile, world affairs have to take precedence over personal affaires, while the government Administration carries on and budgets have to be voted upon so that government services don’t come screeching to a halt, the annual “closing down of the government” scare.
Congress is divided into two warring camps, the Democrats and the Republicans, but even they realize the need for compromise.
End-of-the-year summaries of fruitful in-fighting and recognition of the true achievements of many can’t be considered a foolish thing to discuss amongst ourselves…
There have been new terrorist attacks and riots in the E.U., Brexit discussions are still in the works, and the U.S. put one of its Presidents to his eternal rest.
But looking forward to 2019–a new adventure for us all–it seems to be a miracle that we have survived thus far at all, whatever our station in life.
Somehow the brightness of New Year’s is overshadowed sometimes by the seriousness of our troubled world. But there is still hope in life itself and in the awe and wonder we must feel at the privilege of just being here!
Maybe we are too Victorian in our prudish ways, or maybe we are too Liberal in our mores and morals, or maybe we haven’t found the Perfect President yet! Maybe we are living in a mysogynist society, or maybe women haven’t found their True Liberation.
But maybe a little hair tousling might ease some very apparent tensions amongst the upper crust!
