STATESIDE STORIES: Trump in Office as 47th US President

The past week started with a bang: a beautiful fireworks display at Trump National Golf Course. Then a victory rally on Sunday and the inauguration ceremony on Monday the 20th, which also happened to be Martin Luther King Jr. day.

The Vice-President J.D. Vance was sworn in first, then Trump took the oath of office in a brief ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda, held there instead of outside due to the freezing temperatures and snow.

A celebratory luncheon was held and there were three balls in the evening which Trump attended, dancing with the again First Lady Melania Trump.

At all these events, the top echelon of Trump advisors and Cabinet members were in attendance as they wished him well in his new term in office.

Starting immediately, President Donald J. Trump signed more than 50 Executive Orders, repealing many of former President Joe Biden’s edicts.

The most controversial of these was the end of birthright citizenship, which is sure to go to the Supreme Court.

More than 300 criminal aliens were rounded up by the new border czar and the border patrol ICE for deportation.

Pete Hegseth was confirmed as the new Defense Secretary by Vance’s tie-breaking vote. The majority of Trump’s Cabinet is still to be confirmed by the Senate.

Trump has given many press conferences and speeches in his first ten days in office and plans to continue being accessible to the public during his second term in office.
