Madrid is having one of its most beloved and popular fiestas, the fiesta honoring its patron saint, San Isidro Labrador (St. Isidore the Farmer).
Venues: chiefly la Pradera de San Isidro, Las Vistillas, Matadero Madrid, and Plaza Mayor
Check out the complete programming of the fiestas here.
Moreover, in the current year, it isn’t just the annual celebration taking place. It’s, more importantly, the fourth centennial of the Madrileño saint’s canonization (1622-2022), too. The Holy See has declared the Holy Year of San Isidro (Año Santo de San Isidro) to be celebrated from 15 May 2022 to 15 May 2023.
