The Chinese New Year is just around the corner (16 February, Year of the Dog). It marks the high point in Sinophile interest. But for some, the interest in and curiousity about Chinese culture and language might last well beyond the New Year Festival.
If that’s your case, but you don’t know where you coud go and quench your thirst for Chinese, try the Instituto Confucio de Madrid on Calle Goya 10.
Forming part of this public institution are the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Casa Asia and Hanban (Oficina Nacional de Enseñanza del Chino como Lengua Extranjera) in collaboration with the Shanghai International Studies University (SISU).
The Amigos del Instituto Confucio attended the concert of Chinese pianist Janing Kog gratis at the Auditorio Nacional last 18 January. That’s one of the perks of being Amigo.
What to expect at the Confucius Institute: Chinese language courses for children and adults, exhibits, concerts, workshops, conferences and the like. Especial events are organized by/for the Amigos del Instituto Confucio such as the guided visit to the Espiritu de la pintura de Cai Guo Quiang at the Prado Museum .
