Patricia Anne Foran, the light of all those who knew her, died on October
29, 2015, due to a sudden systemic infection. She took her last breath at
2:00 p.m. at Providence St. Vincent Hospital in the presence of family.
She was 90 years old.

Patricia was originally from Vancouver, B.C., Canada, but had lived in
the U.S. since 1946, including 53 years in the Portland area.

Despite her stroke in 1993, resulting in many years of disability, she
lived a long and earnest life thanks to the dedicated and loving care of
Housecall Providers, Providence Home Health, Department of Human Services
and family members.

She was married for 68 years to Frank Bernard Foran, who died in 2014.
Her oldest son, Richard, died of heart failure in 2013. She is survived
by her children Diana, Douglas and Mary. Patricia had four grandchildren:
Vanessa, Marcos, Caren and Paula, and one great-grandson, Jaime (son of
Marcos and granddaughter-in-law Eva), as well as many nieces, nephews and
cousins in Canada, where she was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17,
1925.

Patricia was the daughter of Richard and Helen Storer, of Vancouver,
Canada. Her brothers, Sidney, Richard and Michael, predeceased her.

When she was a teenager in Canada, Patricia met and fell in love with
Frank, the “boy next door,” and they married in 1946 before moving to the
Seattle area. She raised her four children virtually single-handedly
because her husband was away on business. She was a dedicated and
faithful wife and mother. She also helped support the family with various
jobs outside of the house, including three years at Timberline Systems,
where she was so proud of preparing 10,000 newsletters for bulk mail by
herself! She also had a beautiful singing voice, played piano, painted
portraits, knitted sweaters, wrote reams of poetry, had an endless
vocabulary, loved all flora and fauna, and was a devout Catholic. OBITUARY Patricia Anne Foran_1925-2015 - 2

Autumn 2005
by Patricia Foran

I sit on a bench

Watching the leaves of many colors
Falling into wind-swept mounds
Or singly, in predestined order
To die upon the ground.
There’s always a sadness at this time of year,
Despite the last gasp of brilliance
Carpeting far and near.
Will Winter be hard? Will Spring really come?
What hopes and what dreams
Will finally be won?
I sigh and I leave with a heart that is saddened
To plod my way home
And hope to feel gladdened.
