BACK TO BACK KING’S COLLEGE MADRID NEWS: May Fair

Education

Once again, the weather gods smiled upon Soto for the annual King’s College May Fair and a glorious day was enjoyed by huge numbers of parents, pupils, past pupils and staff. The event is held at the main school in Soto de Viñuelas, but is hosted for families at all three Madrid based campuses.

This year there seemed to be more stalls and eateries than ever before, and the quality of the music (not least the female staff band) was on a whole new level. Most importantly of all, of course, people spent their money in aid of the four House children’s charities:   Juegaterapia, Remar, Nyumbani and Asion .

An eye-watering 32,000€ was raised on the day and after covering all expenses the school are hoping to clear in excess of 25,000€ to send on to the children in need.

The school would like to extend a huge thank you to all of those involved, whether manning a stall, donating gifts, spending money or cheering others on.

Deputy Headmaster at King’s College, Soto de Viñuelas, said “I know of no other school in Spain that manages to be so generous in spirit and so mindful of other’s needs. It was certainly a day to be proud of.”
