The monumental and evocatively titled “El Viaje Más Largo” (The Longest Voyage) Exhibition has just been opened by the King and Queen of Spain at the General Archives of the Indies in Seville. This you won’t want to miss! Will give you a blow-by-blow account shortly. Keep an eye here! It’s about the momentous Magellan-Elcano voyage of discovery in 1519, setting off globalization at a time when only a handful of rara avises thought the world was round! The general belief then was that if you went far away enough, you’d fall off the face of the earth, remember?
