We thought we’d let you know that the Indian spring festival, Holi, is coming to Madrid this Saturday, 29 March, between 5 and 8 PM at the esplanade of the Plaza de Las Ventas, Metro station Ventas.
If you want something exotic to celebrate the coming of spring, this is for you. Organized by the Club Masala Madrid and the Asha Kiran Foundation, it’ll be a Festival of Colors. Dancers from the Club will be doing Bollywood Dance numbers in a vigorously rhythmic crescendo leading up to the explosion of colors that will rain on cheering – if not mesmerized – attendees.
There’ll be many among the thousands who will find dancing to the beat of Bollywood Flash Mob irresistible.
Take a crash course in the dance so you don’t come unprepared with two left feet! See video.
The colors: they’re vivid and varied like a rainbow, produced from powdered flowers from India. The mix symbolizes brotherhood and equality, without regard to caste, sex or religion.
