Massimo Vidoni: When I was a child, I had discovered the art of truffles when I accompanied my uncle. The early morning preparation and going to the mountains, with the dogs, is where my profound interest really started. Once the dog pointed to the location where there could of been a possible truffle, it was like a gold rush for me, being well versed in how difficult it was to find truffles. I had started to think of the commercial business end of trading, buying and selling this bespoken gift of Mother Nature and I had gotten hooked !
Star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez may have tied the knot secretly and their – but especially his – fans are all atwitter! What brought the news on was an image of Georgina watching the film Snowhite and the Seven Dwarfs and saying: “Waiting for my husband. Saturday night.”
The Medical profession exists to help people live healthy and fulfilling lives. To twist and skew ethical considerations because of the societal problems of population and aging is to forget the intrinsic value of life itself. “Putting someone out of their misery” is nothing more than “Murder Most Foul!” Murder is against the law, yet exceptions are made. Consistently and often horribly. And Doctors and nurses are involved in every stage. In the States, it is practically a socially acceptable industry.
Georgia formed part of the defunct USSR. Like many of the post-Soviet nominal republics, it went through a period of sharp economic decline in the 1990s. Georgia wasn’t one to wallow in post-Soviet syndrome, though. It created an environment for liberal investment which proved irresistible to Western financial institutions. Today, Georgia has much to be proud of and wants the world to know about it. And Spain wholeheartedly supports Georgia's pro-West aspirations.
Americans have a special indebtedness to history with regard to the legacy of black people that other countries may not quite understand, including Spain.
Mother’s Day is Appreciation Day for women who have given life to someone else. Happy Mother’s Day to the Mothers of the World! We owe our lives to them!
I couldn’t possibly let the golden week go untapped. And so I found myself in the lovely city of San Sebastian,, a good 500 km north of Madrid, on Dos de Mayo, imbibing txikitos of txakoli which pairs off perfectly with the divine pintxos. The experience is as close to the taste of earthly paradise as one could get.
I longed to be inside the beautiful León Cathedral again. . . The Burgos Carhedral. . . The Seville Cathedral. . . The Monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes in the magical city of Toledo. . . The Capilla Real de Granada. . . The Monasterio de la Cartuja. . . To walk around the medieval walled city of Avila. . .
Life with my husband was an exciting time. We traveled by car, many times across the states and into Canada. We worked, and enjoyed life. Then one day, unexpectedly, my husband of almost 36 years died – and I was lost.Thank goodness for my brother John who guided me back to the land of the living. I booked a tour of a country I wanted to see: Spain, a place where I did not speak the language. I loved exploring all of the country and when I left that first time, I knew I would return, and I did.
The Purloined Suitcase: "Where, oh where was my dark blue suitcase with the large bright pink bow???" <> The Sneeze and the March: "There were many protesters marching on the street below. After they were gone, no trash at all to be found. All of those people and no trash left behind. Amazing!" <> . . .The Bank: "The machine ate my card!" <> Chocolatería: "Best hot chocolate ever!"
