"On the spot where the Basilica of San Francisco el Grande stands today, St Francis of Assisi erected a small hut after he arrived in Madrid in 1217. This old grey-haired gentleman keeps me guessing. The nights I expect him, I worry when he will show up, and he never does. The nights I think he won’t bother to come, he surprises me. Sometimes he simply crawls into my bed and I awaken to find him there. Softly sleeping next to me.
"He says it’s going to be 'an exciting new world' for us, but I am sentimental and stuck on the familiar stairs I climb to my office and the tiny kitchen in which I cook. They say 'home is where the heart is' and my heart has been here for a long, long time"
