What are we going to do without a Christmas Tree to decorate this year? Aguantamos, we suffer it, and put our presents under a table and prepare a sumptuous Christmas dinner and go to Midnight Mass if we can. But it just won’t be the same.

Almost 220,000 migrants have been apprehended at the US southern border from July 2021. Biden reversed Trump’s “stay in Mexico” policy and ended the construction of a border wall. Yet he says that the border is not open. Tell that to the thousands of migrants who collect at the border waiting for their chance to enter the US come what may. There has to be a better way.

Standing on the new bridge, on the Camino, I looked down. Below me was an old Roman bridge. A past life. The river alive with movement and memories. And to my surprise, my shadow was down there also. I was at the beginning of a new life, looking back to see where I had been, also looking forward to the future wondering what might be.
