What’s the American Club of Madrid?

The American Club of Madrid (ACM), a not-for-profit organization, is a premier American/International professional networking entity in Spain. Assuming a leading role in fostering strong relationships between the U.S. and Spain, the ACM actively represents the American community in Madrid with a close collaboration and support of the U.S. Embassy, the diplomatic community, the business sector, and educational as well as philanthropic institutions.

The American Club of Madrid’s membership represents a comprehensive fusion of cultures, ideas, and goals.  The membership is diverse, consisting of individuals, families and corporations. It is 50% American, 30% Spanish, 10% dual citizens and 10% other nationalities. It is an entity that embodies the fast-pace, high level, and grand expectations of its membership. The ACM is the “go-to” organization for the international executive living in Madrid. After all, today’s professional combines free time with their work, and the American Club of Madrid is the catalyst for important professional and social interactions.

Feb 2014 - Facebook 3The ACM holds events in first class venues, which are open to the general public, private “invitation-only” events and certain “members only” activities. The Club was founded in 1952 by CEOs of various American companies based in Madrid. In the 50s and 60s, when Madrid was a favorite location for filming the grand American movies of the period, several American celebrities such as Eva Gardner, Charlton Heston and Tyronne Power were also associated with the ACM.

Over the years, the American Club of Madrid has evolved with the changing times. Today´s ACM has created a modern Mission Statement which is to engage the American population of Madrid, as well as the local Spanish and international community , in helping foster a strong relationship and understanding between the United States and Spain through events and activities.

The ACM is dedicated to quality networking and collaborations, both “business to business” as well as “business to consumer.” It seeks to make mutually beneficial contacts and maintain long lasting professional relationships.
