The bride and groom, Pedro Luis Alaez Feiner and Zaida Salamanca Felix, were married recetly in the village church of Tenebrón, 10 kms from Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca), surrounded by family and friends from all over. Zaida’s family were from this small village, where her grandmother still lives. The groom’s mother, Muriel Feiner, wearing the traditional mantilla, and the bride’s father, Justo Salamanca, were the “padrinos” of the ceremony. Muriel is a Guidepost friend and contributor since the early days of the magazine.
Among those present at the unforgetable celebration was top fashion journalist Barbara Barker and Muriel’s sister Helene and her family, who flew in from Arizona.
The wedding banquet was held in the Abadía de los Templarios, in the truly picturesque village of La Alberca, and there could not have been a more ideal setting. The Abadía itself doubles as an “English Village” in full-immersion English classes to native Spaniards.
A fantastic cocktail was served on the terrace with the Peña de Francia sierra in the background. There was freshly sliced Serrano ham y oysters and lots of Mojitos among other beverages. Then downstairs for a magnificent banquet including lobster and solomillo with foie.
And finally the discotheque in the “basement” with an open bar till 6 in the morning.
Just the right start for Pedro Luis and Zaida’s blissful wedded life together !
