What would you do with 600 dollars extra? Pay your phone bill? Buy food for your family’s table? Have it go toward your rent? It doesn’t seem like much when you consider the bills you have to pay.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: he pushed for $2000 dollars for each citizen affected by the Covid-19 pandemic

That’s how much the Legislature approved in spite of President Trump’s push for $2000 dollars for each citizen affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Legislature did agree on a $900 Billion dollar aid package for American businesses and citizens to cope with the economic devastation of the pandemic and to fund the distribution of vaccines.

“We can finally report what our nation has needed to hear for a very long time,” Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky and the Senate Majority Leader said. “More help is on the way.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wrote in letter to Democrats, “We have now reached agreement on a bill that will crush the virus and put money in the pockets of working families who are struggling. This emergency relief bill is an important initial step.” Pelosi was willing to increase the stimulus payments to $2000 dollars but was stymied by Mitch McConnell in the Senate, who was concerned about the American deficit.

Both Pelosi and McConnell suffered vandalism at their homes due to the paucity of the stimulus.

Foreign aid was included in the package as well as a provision that would cut the use of powerful planet-warming chemicals used in air-conditioners and refrigerators.

The new Legislature is now in session and another stimulus package is foreseen in the Biden Administration which takes office on Jan 20th.

I wish Trump’s $2000 dollar stimulus had been approved, but $600 dollars is better than nothing in times like these!
