What with US President Joe Biden’s recent positive test for Covid-19, the pandemic seems to have reached its tentacles into the US presidential Administration.
Across the US there have been many more than 100,000 confirmed cases of the disease in the month of July.
Masks are optional now in most states, and no one seems to be paying attention to the six-foot distancing rule.
However, masks are required on public transport and in medical settings, and are recommended in indoor venues.
Biden is said to have mild symptoms and has been isolating in the White House.
On a personal note, my brother got Covid-19 from a ham radio group and so I had to delay visiting him while he recovered. His symptoms were a headache, sore throat and a deep cough. Finally he tested negative for Covid-19 and I was able to drive the three hours to visit with him and my sister who came from Spain for a month’s vacation.
I’ve had my vaccinations and so far haven’t caught the bug. My neighbors both had it and have recovered. My niece in Spain had it too. It seems to pick its victims at random.
The pandemic isn’t over yet and so precautions should still be taken.
